Peninsula Sunday Champagne Brunch

Peninsula Sunday Champagne Brunch, Bangkok - Prepared by Thaiaholic
Travel Period: March 2010

Outdoor seating overlooking the Chaopraya river is better than inside the cafe if the weather is not too hot.

It’s like a big thing for me every time I’m in Bangkok, I have to find where to go for Sunday Brunch. After calling some local friends for advice, Peninsula seems to be an interesting place for my not so lazy Sunday. Four of us had been escorted to a very far end of the restaurant. After we had settled down, we decided to browse around. What you can eat here are sushi-sashimi, import BBQ seafood and meat, hot and cold Thai and International dishes, and desserts. I think due to a limited space that’s why limited dishes are offered when comparing to the bigger Buffet such as Four Seasons.

First thing for me is the live BBQ station, which is Boston lobster. I had to wait about 30 minutes until my order was served. It’s too long I may say but thanks god that I occupied myself with lobster bisque and egg benedicts. I didn’t touch any Thai or Chinese dishes because it doesn’t look tempting to me. I mainly enjoy the food from the grill mostly and anything with live station because I accidentally saw so many flies at the other counter in indoor area. Overall my friends and I think it is just OK. It’s not that good but it’s not that bad either. Forgot to mention about the service… it’s under the standard of Peninsula Hotel
