Water Library, Bangkok
- Prepared by Thaiaholic
Travel Period: July 2010
Another hidden chic European bistro in town that fills up with rich flavors on food, water and wine.
Water Library nestled on the 2nd floor at Charmchuree Square where university student uses for hang out after or between classes. I have heard about this place months ago after Singaporean chef had joined the team and redesigned the menu. Once I walk into the restaurant, I hurry scroll my eyes to the remarkable water tower to check which one will I order to company my lunch.
Seating by the glass windows overlooking to the temple and chaotic traffic, I guess it’s time to begin. My set lunch for today starts with Soft Shell Crab Salad with Wasabi Dressing. For my main course I have Chilean Sea Bass in Foamy Mushroom and Bacon Cream Sauce then of course 72% Valrhona Chocolate Cake as my dessert with a cup of Illy Cappuccino.
About the meal… I’m very happy about the taste and food display. The deep fried soft shell crab and the wasabi dressing are well together. It’s just good. My sea bass is also cooked to perfection. It’s crispy on the top and white soft on the inside. The mushroom sauce with bacon is something to die for but I get a tiny bit sick when having too much. The dessert… to be honest I’m not really happy with the cake. I even enjoy what my boyfriend orders even more, which is apple tart. It’s heavenly delicious even though he has to wait for the freshly baked apple tart but it’s totally worthy. His set lunch consists of foie gras and scallop. He said it’s beyond his expectation. Finally we have discovered another good bistro outside the 5 stars hotel. Well done!
